The Cyberabad Police booked cases against 17 pubs and other amusement places in Hyderabad city on Saturday for causing sound pollution and not obtaining a licence for entertainment.
Cyberabad police, along with teams and the Pollution Control Board officials, jointly conducted a drive to inspect and check entertainment licences and also sound levels at various pubs.
It was found that 17 pubs had no licence and also violated permissible sound limits causing noise pollution, violating the Environment Protect Act-1986 and Hyderabad City Police Act r/w Cyberabad (Metropolitan Area) Police Act 2004.
Cases were booked against these 17 pubs and other amusement places for violating the above provisions of law and seized the sound system for necessary action.
