Caste census shows govt’s commitment to social justice

Minister for Road Transport and Backward Classes Welfare Ponnam Prabhakar on Monday visited the Vemulawada Rajarajeswara Swamy temple and offered prayers.
Speaking to the media, he clarified the purpose of the ongoing survey and highlighted the state’s commitment to social justice.
He emphasised that the survey is not for any personal gain but is being conducted in line with the Supreme Court’s guidelines to collect comprehensive family economic and social data across the state.
The Minister stated that the survey aimed to eliminate inequalities in society and ensure equal justice for all. He mentioned that it is a transparent process and not driven by political or electoral motives. The survey, he said, is a part of the government’s larger effort to bring about social reforms and address economic disparities.
Prabhakar also responded to questions regarding the Backward Classes (BC) reservations issue, criticising the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) for allegedly undermining the BC reservations.
He took a dig at BRS working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) for allegedly lacking an understanding of the law, especially in relation to the Supreme Court’s verdict.
Finally, he warned that the law would take its own course if anyone tried to disrupt the survey.
He also noted that if there are any complaints, the authorities would act.
The Minister was accompanied by District Collector Sandeep Kumar Jha, Superintendent of Police Akhil Mahajan, Temple Executive Officer Vinod Reddy and other officials.
