Government Advisor (Public Affairs) Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy has said that the Union government has left the choice of selecting capital city to AP State and refuted claims of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) of ratifying Amaravati as the only capital of the State.
Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, he claimed that the capital decision is up to the State and the Centre also said the same answering a question. He affirmed that decentralisation is the government’s motto under which the development of three areas is its mission.
Ramakrishna Reddy said that Chandrababu Naidu, who wanted to benefit from his coterie by increasing the value of the lands, is working as a broker in the capital Amaravati area and Naidu did the same as a real estate trader talking to increase the prices. He alleged that Naidu is bringing Amaravati to the screen again and keeps trying to generate income for his gang through the real estate business.
Ramakrishna Reddy said, “Chandrababu Naidu had put surveillance on political opponents during his tenure as CM. I am one of the victims of phone tapping. I filed a case against phone tapping by the TDP government in the High Court following which notices were given to Naidu.”
He said that spying and phone tapping happened in AP during the TDP government under the leadership of the then Intelligence Wing head AB Venkateswara Rao and it was proved with evidence how Israel spyware was used against them. He claimed that Naidu had the habit of spying and phone tapping. Ramakrishna Reddy pointed out that now the Telangana government constructed an attractive Secretariat with only Rs 600 crore of expenditure but Naidu spent Rs 600 crore for a temporary Secretariat with water leaks and flaws which shows how the public money was plundered by TDP. He refuted the claims of TDP that Jagan would go for early elections and affirmed that election will be held according to the schedule.
