Chandrababu a rank opportunist: Ambati

Must read

Minister Ambati Rambabu delivered a scathing attack on opposition leader Chandrababu Naidu, alleging that Naidu’s false promises of water provision during his tenure were attempts to deceive the people of Andhra Pradesh. The Minister questioned Naidu’s track record during his 14-year tenure as Chief Minister, accusing him of failing to fulfil his commitments.
Addressing the media on Sunday, the Minister asserted that Naidu’s actions were driven by a desire to salvage his party’s prospects following the 2024 elections.
Ambati Rambabu also raised questions about the conspicuous absence of Lokesh, Naidu’s son, from recent meetings of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Jana Sena. He queried Naidu’s reluctance to showcase Lokesh and highlighted Chief Minister Jagan’s track record of fulfilling 99% of his manifesto promises, contrasting it with Naidu’s tendency to disregard manifestos. The minister predicted that the dominance of Naidu and Pawan Kalyan in politics was waning, suggesting that the TDP would struggle in the upcoming elections.
Responding to Naidu’s derogatory remarks likening him to an ox, Rambabu defended himself by emphasizing the vital role of animals like cows, buffaloes, and oxen in agriculture. He cautioned Naidu against making baseless accusations, labelling Naidu a fraud who had deceived both the people of Andhra Pradesh and the revered NTR. Rambabu raised concerns about the circumstances leading to the tragic suicide of former Assembly Speaker Kodela Sivaprasad, implicating Naidu in the matter. He recounted instances where Sivaprasad sought meetings with Naidu to no avail, suggesting that neglect from Naidu’s end contributed to Sivaprasad’s mental distress and eventual demise.
The Minister also criticised YSRCP Narasaraopet MP Lavu Srikrishna Devarayalu for opposing the nomination of a BC candidate from the Narasraopet MP segment, leading to his defection to the TDP. Rambabu asserted that Srikrishna Devarayalu’s actions disqualified him from seeking the votes of BCs. Additionally, he lamented the defection of MLC Janga Krishnamurthy to the TDP, highlighting Krishnamurthy’s previous allegiance to Jagan’s YSRC party and accusing Naidu of exploiting individuals for his political gains.
Rambabu branded Chandrababu Naidu as the epitome of opportunism, alleging that Naidu’s modus operandi involved exploiting people, including members of NTR’s family, before discarding them when convenient.
