In tune with Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s vision of nurturing an entrepreneur in every family across Andhra Pradesh, Minister for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Rural Poverty Alleviation, and NRI Empowerment, Kondapalli Srinivas, urged officials from various departments to work collectively. These departments, integrated with the state’s rural poverty alleviation mission, have been tasked with facilitating this ambitious initiative.
At a coordination meeting held on Monday at the office of the Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty (SERP), the minister provided clear directions on measures to transform members of self-help groups (SHGs) into micro and small-scale entrepreneurs. He emphasised the need to economically empower SHGs by guiding their members toward entrepreneurship. Addressing potential hurdles, the minister stressed the importance of swift, practical solutions and announced that coordination meetings will now be held every month to ensure timely progress.
The meeting was attended by Nandini Salaria, CEO of the MSME Corporation, G. Shekhar Babu, CEO of the Food Processing Society, along with officials from the National Small Industries Corporation, Khadi and Village Industries Board, National Highways Development Authority, and various departments such as Fisheries, Horticulture, Agriculture, and Animal Husbandry. Representatives from NABARD and the Kaithi voluntary organisation also participated, discussing the alignment of schemes linked with their respective departments.
