Chief Minister Revanth Reddy reviewed the progress of the Telangana Government’s flagship digital land records portal ‘Bhu Bharati’ at his residence in Jubilee Hills on Sunday.
Stressing the need for a long-term, technologically advanced and citizen-centric platform, the Chief Minister asked officials to build Bhu Bharati in a way that it would remain useful for at least the next 100 years.
“The Bhu Bharati website should be so simple that even a farmer can understand and use it. At the same time, it must be advanced enough to serve Telangana till the next century,” Revanth said during the meeting. He called for the use of modern tech frameworks and robust cyber security features like secure firewalls to prevent data breaches or tampering.
He also suggested that the responsibility of managing and maintaining Bhu Bharati should be handed over to a credible institution to ensure reliability and sustained performance.
As part of the reformed land governance, a new Record of Rights (RoR) Act has been created. Through this, services like registration, mutation, appeals, RoR corrections and conversion to non-agricultural land can now be accessed directly through the Bhu Bharati portal of the Revenue Department.
The portal also provides real-time access to critical land-related information like E-Challan and Encumbrance Certificates (ECs) showing property transactions, prohibited lands searchable by village, land rights details accessible by survey number or passbook number and land market values retrievable by survey number and registered document details.
Farmers will also be able to carry out hereditary registrations and access appeal and revision mechanisms through the same platform. “We are putting an end to decades of confusion and red tape in land administration,” Revanth said.
He added that the state is committed to giving control and visibility back to landowners. “This is a pro-farmer step. Bhu Bharati will not only ensure faster services but also bring long overdue trust into the land management system,” he said.
