In an act of solidarity with the Indian armed forces, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has decided to donate one month’s salary to the National Defence Fund.

In a post on X, he said, “As an Indian first, I have decided to make a modest contribution of one month’s salary to the #NationalDefenceFund to help our country’s armed forces to wipe out terrorism, and safeguard our borders & people. I have requested all my colleagues and peers, as well as all citizens, to join in this drive. Let us all stand together, as one, with our forces till our moment of triumph. Jai Hind!”

The CM said that all Members of the Legislative Assembly and Council should contribute a month’s salary to the National Defence Fund.

The Chief Minister held discussions regarding this with Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka. Following this, Bhatti is expected to consult Congress MLAs and MLCs and formally announce their decision to donate a month’s salary as a tribute to the valiant efforts of the Indian Army.

While Congress legislators are leading the initiative, Bhatti also appealed to legislators of other parties to contribute their salaries in a symbolic act of national unity.

The Congress’s Bhongir MP, Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy, said, “I will also contribute one month’s salary. I also request all my MP colleagues to do the same.”

MLC Balmoor Venkat said, “In the context of the Indian attack on Pakistan terrorist camps and as per the request of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka, I have decided to donate one month’s salary to the National Defence Fund.”

In a gesture of solidarity with the Indian armed forces, the Telangana State Civil Services Deputy Collectors’ Association announced that it will contribute one day’s salary to the National Defence Fund.

The Association said the decision was inspired by patriotism and the valour of our armed forces.

“Moved by the commitment of our soldiers, and under the leadership and guidance of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, we have resolved to donate our one-day salary,” said Association President K. Chandramohan and General Secretary A. Bhaskar Rao in a joint statement on Friday.

They added that the Association will soon send an official communication to the State government regarding this.
