Special Chief Secretary for Energy, K. Vijayanand, has announced that a high-level delegation, led by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, along with Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar, will participate in the 4th Global Renewable Energy Investors Meet in Gujarat. The Prime Minister of India, Chief Ministers from various states, and international delegates from countries such as Australia, Denmark, Germany, and Norway, as well as representatives from other national and international companies, will also be attending the event.
In line with the nation’s objective to transform its energy landscape and achieve a target of 500 GW from non-fossil sources by 2030, the 4th Global Renewable Energy Investors Meet is being organised by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) from September 16 to 18 in Gandhinagar. The event will highlight India’s progress and commitment towards a sustainable future, focusing on innovation and global collaboration in the clean energy sector.
During a review of green energy projects with officials from power utilities in the state, Vijayanand noted that Andhra Pradesh’s electricity demand is expected to grow significantly, surpassing 1,15,067 MU annually by 2030.
To meet this increasing demand, the state government is planning phased additions to its renewable energy (RE) capacity, including solar, wind, hydro, and bio-energy, by 2030.
He further emphasised that the Renewable Energy Global Investors Meet & Expo is a flagship event by the Government of India, designed to showcase the country’s renewable energy potential and attract substantial global investments. The event underscores India’s leadership in the renewable energy sector and its ability to draw international attention and resources.
Vijayanand highlighted that the conference will focus on future energy choices, offering participants insights into the latest trends, technologies, and policy developments shaping the global renewable energy landscape. With approximately 50 key sessions and over 250 speakers from around the world, the event will cover the full spectrum of India’s renewable energy system, creating a roadmap for future-ready infrastructure.
He added that the conference is expected to attract a diverse array of participants, including manufacturers, independent power producers, transmission companies, utilities, major infrastructure financing firms, think tanks, academic institutions, researchers, and policymakers from across the sector.
