Union Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu has announced that Gannavaram Airport will receive special attention for development. The Minister inaugurated the new approach road at Gannavaram Airport and launched the Vijayawada-Delhi Indigo services on Saturday. He highlighted that four new services have been introduced in Andhra Pradesh within the past three months.
Minister Naidu also revealed that the Visakhapatnam-Delhi service will commence on 27 October. Additionally, he noted that services to Sharjah are currently operational, with plans to extend to Dubai and Singapore soon.
He emphasised the government’s commitment to enhancing air connectivity, aiming to make Andhra Pradesh a focal point for the entire country. Efforts are underway to boost passenger traffic across all state airports. The Minister announced that a new service from Vijayawada to Pune will begin on 26 October, and a new terminal at Gannavaram Airport is expected to be operational within a year. Minister Rammohan Naidu further stated that there are plans to establish 200 more airports across the country.
