Telangana Chief Minister BRS President K. Chandrasekhar Rao condemned the arrest of Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia by the CBI in connection with the Delhi liquor policy scam.
In a brief statement, KCR said the arrest is intended to divert public attention from the nexus between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the business conglomerate Adani Group.
“We condemn the arrest of Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia by the CBI. It is nothing more than an attempt to divert people’s attention from the Adani–Modi nexus,” KCR said.
Sisodia was arrested by the CBI on Sunday in connection with the corruption in the implementation of the scrapped excise policy of Delhi for 2021-22.
Soon after the arrest on Sunday, BRS Working President KT Rama Rao in a statement said that the BJP is resorting to “stealth politics” by using Central agencies against opposition parties in states where the saffron party cannot come to power.
Sisodia was arrested after the BJP’s debacle in the Delhi mayoral election and the “reprimand” by the Supreme Court, KTR said.
