Things are changing in the BRS as Assembly elections approach. It appears that BRS President Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has handed over the responsibility of ensuring a hat-trick victory to his son, IT Minister KT Rama Rao and his nephew, Finance Minister T. Harish Rao.
Now, both KTR and Harish will work together for the victory of the BRS in the Telangana Assembly elections.
Finance Minister Harish is getting importance in the party. Four days ago KCR held talks with KTR and Harish for about four hours. During this meeting, they discussed Assembly elections and the BRS strategy for victory.
After winning the 2018 Assembly elections KCR kept Harish away. But after some time KCR started giving importance to Harish. Earlier, KCR had praised Harish on several occasions times. KCR once said that wherever Harish goes victory is certain.
Now, KCR is busy expanding the BRS footprint in other states and is not able to dedicate himself fully to Telangana politics. During the last Assembly elections along with KCR, ministers KTR and Harish took responsibility for campaigning.
The BRS won many Assembly seats where KTR and Harish campaigned and KTR and Harish became a successful pair in the BRS. Keeping this in view KCR has reportedly given them responsibilities in the Assembly elections. There will be no clash between the two for the Chief Minister’s post.
There are speculations for a long time that KCR will make his son KTR his successor. Harish openly said many times in the past that he is ready to work in KTR’s cabinet in case KTR becomes the Chief Minister. Harish also said that he is ready to take up whatever assignment KCR gives. Both KTR and Harish are known for hard work and have a good image among party cadres as well as the public. Both have a grip on the party organisation and can identify every leader and worker.
There was some difference of opinion between the two after the last Assembly elections. But now there is no difference among them and as per KCR’s directions, they have decided to join hands to make the BRS victorious in the next elections.
KCR’s role in national politics depends on the victory of the BRS in the Telangana Assembly elections. KTR and Harish will share responsibilities as directed by KCR. However, KTR will get more importance as KCR wants to project him as his successor.
