Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is set to visit the port city of Visakhapatnam on August 1 to inaugurate the highly anticipated Raheja Group Inorbit Mall near Port Hospital in Kailasapuram.
The Mumbai-based Raheja Group has invested Rs 600 crore to construct the mall, which will occupy a sprawling 6 lakh sq ft space at Saligramapuram. The Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) has leased the 17-acre vacant land, located next to NH-16, to the Raheja Group for this project. Notably, this will be the first Inorbit Mall in Andhra Pradesh.
The construction is estimated to be completed within 24 months, promising to generate numerous employment opportunities.
During a recent meeting, Neel Raheja, the head of Raheja Group, extended a personal invitation to Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to grace the foundation stone-laying ceremony, which he gladly accepted.
The Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) has already started making preparations for the event. The designated area for the ceremony, identified and cleared on Thursday, will be suitably arranged. GVMC Commissioner CM Saikanth Varma has instructed the staff to ensure proper sanitation along the route from the airport to Kailasapuram, in light of the Chief Minister’s visit.
According to Minister for Industries Gudivada Amarnath, the Inorbit Mall by Raheja Group will be the largest of its kind in both Telugu states, boasting more than 200 outlets. All necessary permissions for the construction have already been obtained. The mall is expected to directly and indirectly employ around 5000 people.
During a recent visit to the Raheja Group, CM Jagan proposed a future expansion project for an IT tower, which was graciously accepted by the head of the Raheja Group, as confirmed by the minister.
Given Vizag’s status as a prominent tourist hub, with visitors coming from various places, including neighbouring states like Odisha, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, and Tamil Nadu, the upcoming Raheja Group InOrbit Mall is expected to become a landmark destination.
