Both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and TS Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao are getting ready for their Maharashtra show on August 1. Modi and KCR are visiting Maharashtra on the same day, that is, August 1.

Modi is going to attract people by inaugurating and laying foundation stones for development projects during his day-long tour.

KCR is going to focus on Dalits while attending the Anna Bhau Sathe birth anniversary celebrations and by inducting Sathe’s family members into the BRS.

Modi will have darshan at the Dagdusheth Mandir in Pune during his day-long visit on August 1 and will also conduct a pooja. KCR is going to have darshan at Kolhapur’s Ambabai Mandir.

Modi will be conferred the Lokmanya Tilak National Award instituted by the Tilak Smarak Mandir Trust in 1983, to honour Lokmanya Tilak. The award is given to people who have worked for the nation’s development and whose contributions are remarkable and extraordinary.

It is presented every year on August 1 on the death anniversary of Lokmanya Tilak.

Modi will be the 41st recipient of the award. Earlier, it was presented to Dr Shankar Dayal Sharma, Pranab Mukherjee, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Indira Gandhi, Dr Manmohan Singh, NR Narayana Murthy and Dr E. Sreedharan among others.

KCR who is focusing on national politics will attend the birth anniversary celebrations of Maharashtra Dalit leader Tukaram Bhaurao Sathe, popularly known as Anna Bhau Sathe, who was a social reformer, folk poet and writer.

BRS sources said that KCR is the first CM to attend the birth anniversary programme of Anna Bhau Sathe, who belongs to the SC community known as Mang or Matang.

Later, the CM will visit Kolhapur’s Ambabai Mandir and will meet the grandson of Sahu Maharaj.

KCR was expected to attend public meetings in Solapur and Pune but he cancelled it as agricultural operations are going on.
