Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s Special Chief Secretary Punam Malakondaiah visited the Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam atop Indrakeeladri in Vijayawada on Sunday. She offered special pujas to the presiding deity.
The temple authorities gave her a warm welcome as per tradition and provided darshan. Later, she was offered Veda Ashirvachanam by the priests, and then prasadams and Sri Durga’s portrait by Executive Officer D Bramaramba and prime priest Vishnubotla Siva Prasad Sarma.
Meanwhile, Endowments Commissioner S Satya Narayana also visited goddess Sri Kanaka Durga. Temple Trust Board Chairman Karnati Rambabu and EO Bramaramba provided darshan and later he was given Veda Ashirvachannam.
In view of Sunday and Shravana Masam, a large number of devotees thronged the Durga temple and worshipped the goddess.
The devotees participated in the sevas like Khadgamala Archana, Laksha Kumkumarchana, Sri Chakra Navararchana, Chandi Homam and Sathi Kalyanam.
