The Collaborative Artificial Intelligence Research Labs Foundation (CAIRL) was officially launched at T-Hub in the city on Sunday. This launch aims to drive responsible AI development and innovation in the State.
Managing Director of Colaberry Private Limited, Ramamohan Manamasa opened the event with a speech about CAIRL’s mission to advance AI research to benefit society. Meanwhile, Founder and CEO of Colaberry Inc., USA, Ram Katamaraja gave a keynote on the global AI research landscape and CAIRL’s potential impact on AI development in India.
Special Chief Secretary to the IT department, Jayesh Ranjan attended virtually as guest of honour and emphasised Telangana’s commitment to making Hyderabad a global AI hub. A panel discussion titled “AI 2030: Envisioning the Future of Artificial Intelligence in Industry and Society,” moderated by Dr Suraj Bansali, covered AI’s transformative role, focusing on innovation, ethics and industry-specific applications.
The panelists highlighted CAIRL’s plans to develop AI talent, promote open-source AI research and collaborate with institutions like IIT, IIIT, BITS, NIT Warangal and ISB.
CAIRL’s next steps involve collaborating with the Telangana government, academic partnerships, creating an AI researcher database, promoting open-source projects and developing AI talent.
