Stating that Electric Vehicles help in reducing pollution, Collector AS Dinesh Kumar has appealed to all to give priority to them.
The Collector, as part of the ‘Go Green’ programme, inaugurated an Electric Vehicles exhibition here on Monday. The Collector himself drove an Electric car and rode an Electric scooter at the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said that noise pollution and air pollution could be avoided by using electric vehicles. Compared to other conventional vehicles that run on petrol and diesel, the expenditure could be reduced by using EVs. He said that a decision has been taken to use fully electric vehicles in various departments.
Electric vehicle manufacturers should focus on replacing lithium batteries with more efficient sodium batteries, he felt, adding that all government and private organizations need to encourage the use of electric vehicles for personal and commercial purposes NEDCAP DGM M Harinath Babu and others were present.
