Collector extols doctors for their service during Covid

District Collector M Venugopal Reddy appreciated the doctors for their services during the Coronavirus pandemic.

Addressing the freshers’ day programme organised by the Guntur Medical College here on Wednesday, the Collector congratulated the medical students for pursuing medical education at the prestigious Guntur Medical College.

The Collector said that the greatness of the medical profession would be known through the services provided by doctors when calamities occur, like Coronavirus pandemic.

“After joining the medical profession, a lot of patience and discipline is required to develop good standards. Once we achieve success, we should not think that there is no need to work hard. The medical students should remember that success is like a journey and not the end,” the Collector felt.

Collector Venugopal Reddy said that the state government is providing all the necessary facilities in the fields of education and medicine and hospitals were being developed and steps were taken to appoint doctors and medical staff.

“Required funds have been sanctioned for the development of Guntur Medical College. You should use all these to rise to higher heights in life,” the Collector said.

The patients who come for treatment to the hospital should be treated well. The Collector appreciated Guntur Medical College Alumni for providing necessary medical equipment and funds for the development of Guntur Medical College and GGH. GGH Superintendent Dr N Prabhavati, vice-principal Dr Umadevi, Chief coordinator Dr Bala Bhaskar and coordinator Dr PV Hanumantha Rao were among those who were present.
