NTR District Collector Dr S Dilli Rao has lauded the Youth Red Cross and its volunteers for their services during the relinquishment of Bhavani Deekshalu at Indrakeeladri. With the support of the Youth Red Cross, awareness programmes will be conducted on heart diseases.
The District Collector felicitated Youth Red Cross and NSS Volunteers of KBN and Sarada College students at the collectorate in Vijayawada on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion, the Collector remembered the services of the Indian Red Cross Society during natural calamities and several festivities. In particular, the NSS volunteers, who are students of various colleges, provided their services without expecting any profit. In foreign countries, people give various services voluntarily, which they consider as an honourable thing, he added. He added that as several deaths happened due to cardiac arrests, the district administration decided to conduct awareness programmes with the help of the Youth Red Cross and NSS volunteers.
Indian Red Cross Society chairman Dr G Samaram, district manager Ch Srinivasa Rao, staff Radhika, Ashok, G Ranjith, R Eswar, K Sivaiah and others were present.
