District Collector Dr. A. Mallikarjuna has issued special orders outlining the strategic action points to improve the effectiveness of State-run welfare programmes in Visakhapatnam.
The new orders emphasise the importance of field visits and regular interaction with the ground staff. Officials are mandated to conduct frequent visits within their respective secretariats and organise focused awareness conferences. These local meetings, with a specific focus on programmes like Jagananna Arogya Suraksha (health insurance), YSR Pension Kanuka (pensions), Cheyutha (women empowerment), Asara (housing), and others, aim to equip secretariat staff with in-depth knowledge of government policies and ensure seamless execution on the ground.
To ensure accountability and transparency, Dr. Mallikarjuna has stipulated the submission of regular progress reports by all departments involved.
Additionally, for enhanced oversight and swift implementation, 11 special officers have been appointed for various mandals across the district. These officers will closely monitor and expedite the execution of welfare programmes within their designated areas.

These strategic appointments aim to streamline the administrative process and foster better coordination among different departments. This collaborative effort is aimed at ensuring the successful implementation of welfare initiatives and guaranteeing that eligible beneficiaries receive the rightful benefits promised by the government.
