Conditional bail for Sharmila, T-SAVE hunger stir today

YSRTP President YS Sharmila was released from the Chanchalguda jail on Tuesday.

The court granted conditional bail to Sharmila in connection with the case regarding an alleged attack on the police on Monday with two sureties of Rs 30,000 each.

The Chanchalguda jail authorities released Sharmila on Tuesday after her lawyers submitted the bail order.

Later, speaking to the media, Sharmila launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.

Sharmila asked KCR to reveal whether he is able to rule the state and whether he has gone to the secretariat anytime. She said that KCR had not fulfilled his assurances and that his son and daughter are engaged in corruption.

“KCR knows how to loot thousands of crores and KTR knows the real estate business and Kavitha knows hooch trade,” Sharmila said.

“What can I do if the police encircle and attack me? A woman constable tried to break my hand. Why didn’t the police make public the videos in which they threatened me? Why did the police release only some videos? I pushed a male police officer in self-defence. What else can KCR’s rule be called other than Taliban rule?” she asked.

Sharmila said that KCR is jailing opposition leaders if they question his policies. “Is it the way to arrest a woman? KCR is using the police like dogs. Will the police attack and arrest opposition leaders if they take part peacefully in public protests? Doesn’t the opposition have the freedom to question the government’s policies,” she asked.

She said that she did not attack the police but was pushed by them and that the police filed false cases against her after editing the videos.

She said that the police behaved cruelly towards her mother Vijayalaxmi and did not even give minimum respect to a former CM’s wife. “I will bounce back with double force if KCR tries to suppress me,” Sharmila said.

She said that she will stage the T-SAVE hunger strike at the Indira Park Dharna Chowk on Wednesday.
