Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders, including national spokesperson Kommareddy Pattabhi Ram and a dozen others, got conditional bail from the Vijayawada SC and ST Special Court rejecting the petition filed by the police seeking custody. It is known that the police have registered a case against Pattabhi in the Krishna district Gannavaram incident case. Arguments on the bail petition ended in the Vijayawada court on Thursday.
Judge A. Satyanand adjourned the case to Friday for final orders. Senior advocate Posani Venkateshwarlu heard the arguments on behalf of Pattabhi. After hearing arguments from both sides, the judge granted conditional bail to 13 TD leaders including Pattabhi. The bail conditions state that Pattabhi and other leaders have to appear at the police station every Thursday for 3 months.
It may be recalled that the police have registered a case against Pattabhi based on a complaint filed by Gannavaram CI Kanaka Rao about carrying out an attack on him and others during a bid to control the ruckus in the Gannavaram TD office. The CI received head injuries and was admitted to the hospital for treatment. A case has been registered against 13 persons including Pattabhi.
