Cong picks another date for Priyanka’s visit to Telangana

The Telangana Congress has been waiting for AICC General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi like Jacobin Cuckoo for more than a year. Congress leaders announced several times that Priyanka is visiting the State whenever they conducted public meetings.

Congress leaders said that Priyanka Gandhi or Sonia Gandhi would participate in Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra that went through the state during the months of October and November in 2022. Congress leaders picked another Muhurath on Tuesday for Priyanka’s visit to Telangana.

Declaring that he was confident that Priyanka would tour Telangana, TPCC President Revanth Reddy announced the new Muhurat for her TS visit.

Revanth, while speaking to the media at the Gandhi Bhavan, said that the Congress will organise a huge public meeting at Saroor Nagar on May 4 or 5. He said that they will reach the meeting venue at the head of a rally after paying tributes to the statue of Srikantha Chary in LB Nagar.

Revanth said that Priyanka will attend the public meeting as chief guest. The party will explain at the meeting what it will do for the youth if it comes to the power at the Centre and State, Revanth said.

The TPCC President said that Priyanka is busy with Karnataka elections and that she will come to Hyderabad. She will return to Karnataka after attending the Saroor Nagar public meeting, he said. He said that he schedule for Priyanka’s Hyderabad tour will be published within two days.

Revanth said that he had explained the details to former AICC president Rahul Gandhi on Monday at the RGI Airport. He said that the public meeting is not for the Congress but for unemployed youth. He appealed to the youth to attend the meet in large numbers and in other programmes of the Congress.

He asked all unemployed youth and student unions to participate in the Nirasana Deeksha (protest) being held at Saroor Nagar. TPCC official spokesperson Boreddy Ayodhya Reddy said that Priyanka will certainly come to Telangana this time.
