Bhongir Congress MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said that there is no need for the Congress to give tickets to those who quit the BRS.
He said that former Nkarekal MLA Vemula Veeresham has been saying that he will join the Congress just because he did not get a ticket from the BRS.
Venkat said that the Congress needs leaders who would not leave the party and those who will not grab lands after threatening people. He said that his aim is to ensure a peaceful Nakrekal.
Venkat held a meeting on Saturday on his agricultural field of Congress activists, leaders and public representatives from Nakrekal. He organised the meeting as Vemula Veeresham was trying to join the Congress and discussed what to do if Vemula Veeresham joined the Congress.
He said that they will discuss with mandal-wise activists on Monday and take a final decision.
The MP said that Congress activists must not get troubled by what appears on social media and that Congressmen should not get angry believing such news.
He assured Congress activists that he would announce the candidate for Nakrekal on the basis of their suggestions.
Venkat said that he did a damage control act by checking the log books kept at electricity substations across the state as TPCC President Revanth Reddy accidentally made a statement on the free power supply issue.
