The Congress demanded that the Election Commission should convene an all-party meeting to clear doubts regarding the deletion of Photo Similar Entries (PSEs) and the linking of Aadhaar cards with voter ID cards. Senior TPCC Vice-President G. Niranjan addressed a letter to Telangana Chief Electoral Officer regarding this.
In his letter, Niranjan asked the Election Commission to convene a meeting of all political parties to discuss the anomalies regarding the deletion of Photo Similar Entries (PSEs) and the linking of Aadhaar with the Voter ID card. Niranjan also brought to the notice of the EC that as a first step the EC had undertaken the deletion of Photo Similar Entries within the Assembly constituency and published the final voters’ list on January 5.
But we found that Photo Similar Entries within the assembly constituency exist in the final voters’ list. We would like to know the reason for this lapse. Now the EC has taken up deletion of Photo Similar Entries in all Assembly constituencies in the state, he said.
He requested the EC to explain the process adopted in deleting Photo Similar Entries across constituencies in the state.“The Election Commission vide its letter 30/2022-ERS dated August 8, 2022, informed us that submission of Aadhaar in all registration forms including Form-6 is purely voluntary.
