In a commendable display of quick response and effective coordination, Police Commissioner, A. Ravi Shankar, applauded the vigilance and swift actions of police personnel who averted a potential disaster at the Fishing Harbor earlier this morning.
Head constables G. Nagendra Kumar and VGGB Rama Krishna, patrolling near One Town Police Station, spotted smoke at the Fishing Harbor during a routine patrol. They promptly reported a boat on fire to the control room. Sub-Inspector I RA Konda and PC CH Gangadhar, in the control room, quickly alerted five fire engines and informed the Navy, CISF, NDRF, Coromandel, and Port Authority. Collective efforts minimized property damage, showcasing the efficacy of the emergency response system.
Following a thorough examination of the incident site, Commissioner Ravi Shankar formed a committee comprising officials from Revenue, Fire Services, Fisheries, Forensic, and Police Departments to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the fire accident. Special teams, including crime, task force, and CCS, will be constituted to apprehend suspects and facilitate a thorough inquiry.
A case has been registered, categorizing the incident as an accidental fire. ACP Harbor has been appointed as the investigating officer to ensure a meticulous examination of the circumstances surrounding the fire.
Police Commissioner Ravi Shankar expressed his gratitude by personally congratulating and rewarding the exemplary efforts of G. Nagendra Kumar, VGGB Rama Krishna, SI RA Konda, and PC CH Gangadhar.
