Seediri promises compensation and accountability

In the wake of the tragic incident at Visakhapatnam Fishing Harbour, Minister Seediri Appalaraju expressed profound regret and pledged 80% compensation for the affected boats. The Minister, accompanied by former Minister Avanti, District Collector Mallikarjun, and Police Commissioner Fisheries officials, inspected the accident site, revealing the extent of the damage with 36 boats completely destroyed and 9 partially damaged.
Blaming the incident on the actions of a few irresponsible individuals, Minister Appalaraju did not mince words, referring to them as “brats” whose actions have caused significant distress to the families of fishermen. He assured the public that accountability measures are already in motion against those responsible.
Acknowledging the ongoing protests by fishermen, Minister Appalaraju addressed their concerns, citing unfulfilled promises from the previous government. He reassured the community, stating that the current administration is dedicated to addressing their grievances and ensuring justice.
The Minister conveyed Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy’s assurance that every boat owner and fisherman will receive full justice, even in cases of damage. Additionally, he outlined plans to establish fire safety measures and outposts in the harbor to prevent future incidents.
As investigations continue and compensation efforts are underway, the fishing community eagerly awaits swift actions to rectify their concerns and secure the safety of their livelihoods. The government’s commitment to accountability and safety measures provides a ray of hope for the affected families during this challenging time.
