CRDA invites tenders for jungle clearing in Amaravati

Must read

The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (AP CRDA) has initiated a significant clean-up and development effort in the Amaravati capital region. The CRDA has announced tenders worth Rs 36.50 crores for jungle clearing works across 25,000 acres in 29 villages. The tender process is expected to be completed within a week, and the jungle clearing is likely to be finished within a month, according to CRDA officials.
The TDP-led NDA government has undertaken steps to revamp Amaravati, aiming to give the capital a new look.

The previous YSRCP government had neglected the capital region, resulting in the overgrowth of bushes and trees. The CRDA is now working to remove this overgrowth. The Executive Committee (EC) has approved these measures, and the call for tenders is imminent.
Prior to the TDP-led NDA government assuming charge after their landslide victory, preliminary cleaning efforts were made in June. Jungle bushes and trees were cleared over five days in 25 key areas of Amaravati, covering 673 acres, including locations such as Karakatta Road, AP Legislative Assembly, High Court, and residential complexes for MLAs, MLCs, and IAS officers.
Minister Narayana has provided recent instructions to the CRDA, leading to the preparation of detailed estimates for the jungle-clearing works. Contractors will be allotted one month to complete the task. The cleaning efforts will cover 29 villages within the capital region. Additionally, returnable plots have been provided to farmers who contributed their land through land pooling. However, due to the overgrown vegetation, many farmers were unable to locate their plots. Despite multiple requests from farmers for plot marking, the previous YSRCP government did not address their concerns. The current jungle clearance will include marking plots in LPS layouts.
Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu is determined to complete the Amaravati capital and Polavaram project works. He emphasized that “AP means Amaravati and Polavaram.” To advance these projects, the Chief Minister released a white paper detailing the plans for both Amaravati and Polavaram, aiming to resume and complete the works halted during the five years of the YSRCP government.
