Cybercriminal from Chennai held

Telangana Cyber Security Bureau in Wrangal Commissionerate on Wednesday arrested an alleged cybercriminal who hailed from Tamil Nadu.
He was identified as Maria Benedict, 38, resident of Chennai.
According to Warangal Assistant Commissioner of Police Vijaya Kumar, Benedict diverted the money extracted from public to various cybercriminal bank accounts.
Promising double returns on the investments, the cybercriminal encouraged the gullible to invest money in a Ponzi scheme.
The money looted was diverted to the bank account of Benedict. He used to withdraw the amount from the bank and used to convert the money into crypto currency and dollars and used to deposit the amount back into cyber criminals’ bank accounts.
A person, who lost Rs 3.50 lakh in Hanamkonda to cyber criminals, lodged a complaint with the police.
The police during the investigation traced Benedict to Chennai and arrested him. He was brought to Warangal.
City Police Commissioner Amber Kishore Jha commanded the good work done by the ACP, Inspector Ravi Kumar, sub inspector Charan, Sivakumar, AAO Salman Pasha, Rajesh Reddy and constables Anjaneyulu and Raju.
