“If anybody commits irregularities or corruption during the paddy procurement, criminal cases will be registered against them. So, the officials should procure the paddy grains from the farmers properly through Dr YSR Rythu Bharosa Kendras,” warned Krishna District Collector P Raja Babu.
Along with Raja Babu, Joint Collector Dr Aparajitha Singh and District Revenue Officer (DRO) Peddi Roja convened a teleconference with all field-level officials to discuss paddy procurement, welfare hostel inspection and repairs, from the collectorate in Machilipatnam on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said that as paddy procurement has begun across the district, the officials should make necessary arrangements to overcome difficulties. During the purchase of paddy, no farmer should face problems from the part of the government, he instructed.
He stressed that strict action would be taken if anyone showed negligence in paddy grain procurement. Agriculture Department Assistant Directors should inspect the RBKs and review the procurement process. Similarly, Mandal Agriculture Officers should be present at the RBKs, he added.
Meanwhile, the Collector ordered the Engineering Department officers to submit the full details and proposals regarding repairs to the welfare hostel buildings in the district. All district-level officers, who are assigned various mandals, should visit the welfare hostels and inspect them properly, he added.
Later, he asked the election officers to keep all records regarding the voters’ list and booths, as the district’s voters’ list observer and Pollution Control Board Member Secretary B Sridhar would visit the district on Wednesday.
All Revenue Divisional Officers (RDOs), Tahsildars, MPDOs, and Municipal Commissioners attended the teleconference.
