Gambhir Rao Peta village sarpanch Katakam Sridhar and panchayat secretary Majid received Deen Dayal Upadhyay Panchayat Satat Vikas Nation Award from Union Minister for Panchayat Raj Minister Giriraj Singh at a programme held at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi on Monday.
The event was held with President Draupadi Murmu presiding over it.
Under the creation of the infrastructure category, Gambhir Rao Peta village ranked number three in the nation and won the award, which carries a shield and a cash prize of Rs 50 lakh.
The Union Minister presented the award to the panchayat sarpanch and its secretary in the presence of state’s panchayat raj minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao.
Local Bodies Additional Collector Satya Prasad, District Panchayat Officer Ravinder and others were present on the occasion.
