Congress political strategist Sunil Kanugolu and his team met suspended BRS leader Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy a few days ago. There were rumours on Monday that Rahul Gandhi’s team met Ponguleti on Monday as Rahul went back to New Delhi from Karnataka via RGI Airport.
It is learnt that Sunil’s team explained the political situation in Telangana as well as the country and tried to make Ponguleti join the Congress and assured him that he will have bright chances if he joined the Congress.
Sunil also explained to Ponguleti that the Congress is going to come to power in Telangana with figures and facts.
It is learnt that Ponguleti asked Sunil’s team to give him two MP seats and 12 Assembly seats including two Assembly seats in GHMC limits. It is learnt that Sunil’s team informed it to the Congress brass.
TPCC President Revanth Reddy also spoke to Ponguleti. It is learnt that Revanth accepted Ponguleti’s conditions. He said the party is ready to hand over all the seats of the erstwhile Khammam district except Madhira and Bhadrachalam Assembly constituencies where CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and Podem Veeraiah are contesting.
However, Ponguleti did not give any assurance that he would join the Congress to Revanth and sought 15 days to decide on their offer.
BJP leaders too are trying to attract Ponguleti making him the most wanted politician in Telangana. But he is taking his own time giving shockers to his adversaries.
