Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said that there is a great need for new and old Congress leaders to work in close coordination so that the party can win the local body elections.
He said the Congress Government would gain strength if all party activists joined hands and functioned unitedly.
The CM was addressing the CLP meeting held at the MCRHRD on Thursday.
He said that victory in the upcoming local body elections would strengthen the Congress Government and that is why he wanted to formulate effective election plans in each constituency. The CM asked MLAs to stay close to the people and to vigorously publicise the government’s schemes.
The CM reiterated that Congress MLAs should work for the party’s victory and give priority to strengthening the party in rural areas. He clarified that this is the responsibility of all party MLAs.
He said that development projects should be accelerated to prove that promises given to the people during the Assembly election campaign are being implemented.
He suggested that MLAs should meet Ministers immediately for the construction of CC roads in villages, the development of temples, for granting permissions for the construction of buildings and allocation of funds.
The CM clarified that appropriate steps should be taken to provide 42 per cent reservation for BCs in local body elections. He instructed MLAs to ensure that this is in line with the party’s ideology and justice is done to BC communities. The CM said that the Congress is committed to bringing the BC leadership forward and supporting them in power.
