Durga temple decked up for ‘Bhavani Deeksha Viramana’

Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam, atop the Indrakeeladri, decked up for the relinquishment of ‘Bhavani Deeksha’ to be held from December 15 to 19. The temple authorities have arranged colourful lighting for the temple and Mallikharjuna Maha Mandapam.

Also, the temple authorities have made all arrangements for the devotees who come from all over the State to formally relinquish ‘Bhavani Deeksha’. The temple officials are expecting about four lakh to five lakh ‘Bhavanis’ and devotees as part of the ‘Bhavani Deeksha Viramana’.

Around 50,000 to one lakh ‘Bhavnis’ per day may come to Vijayawada for the relinquishment of ‘Deeksha’. On the directions of NTR District Collector Dr S Dilli Rao, VMC, police, revenue, health & medical, and other departments are in coordination with one another.

Temple officials arranged queue lines from the Vinayaka Temple to the Durga temple on the hilltop. ‘Prasadam’ counters were arranged at the Kanakadurga Nagar.

Sri Durga temple Executive Officer (EO) D Bhramarambha and others inspected all arrangements and gave suggestions to all departments to make the relinquishment of ‘Bhavani Deeksha’ programme successful.
