Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner Ronald Rose said that since the Early Bird scheme was introduced on April 1, Rs 230 crore property tax has been collected so far.
Property owners will receive a five per cent discount on property tax if they pay the entire amount for the financial year of 2024-25 till April 30. This scheme aims to encourage taxpayers to get an incentive to settle their dues early and also which helps to get revenue to the GHMC.
In the 2022-23, GHMC collected Rs 1,660 crore and for the 2023-24 financial year, the corporation garnered Rs 1,917 crore. Which means, GHMC collected Rs 257 crore more from 2022-23 to 2023-24. This year officials are estimating more than Rs 1,000 crore from the Early Bird scheme.
