Ex-minister Vatti passes away

Former minister Vatti Vasantha Kumar died on Sunday in Apollo hospital in Visakhapatnam. He had been suffering from kidney-related problems for the last few months. Vatti Vasantha Kumar was 70 and belonged to Pulla village.

Vasanth Kumar worked as a minister in the YS Rajasekhar Reddy, K Rosaiah, and N Kiran Kumar Reddy Cabinets and held rural development and tourism development portfolios.

He was elected to the Assembly from the Ungaturu constituency in 2004 and 2009. He had been maintaining distance from politics since 2014. His body was shifted to his native village Pulla.

Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) paid tributes to Vatti Vasanth Kumar. City Congress president Naraharashetti Narasimha Rao, APCC legal cell chairman V Gurunatham and APCC RTI cell chairman PT Kiran paid tributes by garlanding the portrait of Vatasth Kumar in the Congress office on Sunday. Janasena Political Affairs Committee chairman Nadendla Manohar also condoled the death of Vasanth Kumar and recalled his association with him.
