Expedite ‘Grama Kantam’ lands resurvey: Centre

Central Panchayat Raj department Joint Secretary Alok Premnagar has directed the officials concerned to expedite the resurvey of ‘Grama Kantam’ (Aabadi) lands using the village secretariat system.

Alok Premnagar inspected the ‘Jagananna Saswatha Bhuhakku and Bhu Raksha’ process at Chintalapudi village in Duggirala mandal. He was accompanied by Collector M Venugopal Reddy, Joint Collector G Rajakumari, and Tenali sub-collector Gitanjali Sharma.

Alok Premnagar went around the photo exhibition at the village illustrating the survey of ‘Grama Kantam’ lands. Nodal officer Srinivas explained to him about the resurvey of ‘Grama Kantam’ lands.

The officials explained to him the resurvey of ‘Grama Kantam’ lands, the step-by-step processes from holding Gram Sabhas, drone fly, ORA maps, ground truthing, Section 13 notification, ground validation, draft ROR publication, receipt of objections, publication of final ROR and grant of house right documents and showed him all the relevant records and registers.

Collector M Venugopal Reddy explained the resurvey of ‘Grama Kantam’ lands, the process of crop field survey and showed the land right documents and owner certificate cards given to the residents of ‘Grama Kantam’ to Joint Secretary Alok Prema Nagar.

Joint Secretary of Central Panchayat Raj Department, Alok Premanagar inquired about the services being provided to the people on a daily basis and the duties performed in the village secretariats.

He also inquired about utilizing the funds granted to the village panchayats. He suggested that the entire process of resurvey should be uploaded on a special website so that people can check it online from anywhere.

Later, the Joint Secretary told the reporters that a resurvey of all ‘Gram Kantam’ lands is being carried out through the ‘Swamitva’ programme, but in the State, along with ‘Gram Kantam’ lands, farmlands are also being resurveyed. He said that the resurvey process at the villages is examined and the processes is being carried out properly.

District panchayat officer Keshava Reddy, ZP CEO Srinivasa Reddy and survey department AD Rupla Naik were among those who were present.
