Depressed over failure in the examinations, a first-year Intermediate student committed suicide by hanging himself at his house at Armur in the district on Tuesday. He resorted to the extreme step within a few hours after the results were announced.
The deceased was identified as Prajwal (17). He was studying at a private college in Hyderabad. He went to his native place after summer vacation was declared. His father is a registered medical practitioner. A pall of gloom descended on Sastry Nagar. The family members were inconsolable.
In fact, Minister for Education Sabita Indra Indra Reddy appealed to the student who failed examinations not to get disheartened. She advised them to appear for advanced supplementary examinations commencing on June 4.
