Five Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation teams will visit NDMC, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru and Kolkata to study best practices of field-level mechanisms dealing with core municipal services delivery.
In the recent review, Minister for MA&UD KT Rama Rao, on the progress of key projects in GHMC, suggested deputation of a team of officials from the GHMC to other metro cities in the country to study the administrative structure, field-level mechanisms dealing with core municipal services delivery, citizen engagement process at the base level, etc so as to find out and emulate the best practices from them.
Teams have been constituted to visit the metropolitan cities in the country from April 25 to 26. Officials will visit the assigned cities by making alternative arrangements for their absence in the headquarters during the period. The expenditure for the visit including travel, accommodation, food, local transport, etc, will be borne from the GHMC funds.
The team leaders and zonal commissioners, heading the team shall plan travel arrangements for their respective zones by drawing necessary advances to meet the expenditure. They should ensure that the visit of their team is purposeful with reference to the objective sought to be achieved and shall submit Field Visit Observation Report by April 30 to the Commissioner, GHMC, with a copy marked to the Government.
