Vishwavathi Rathod, entrepreneur of third batch of CM ST Entrepreneurship and Innovation Scheme (CMSTEIS) began her journey in 2021. She said, “The subsidies for women are helpful because there is no trust on a woman from home itself. Look at my example. I have MBA qualification with three years of work experience in top companies. Now if anyone provides me capital I would manufacture a product and sell it.”
Remembering the challenges, she said, “Before starting entrepreneurial journey, we must show a system that a certain place or property is taken for a lease for our business and we should manage the expenses incurred in lakhs because until the scheme amount is sanctioned there is a gap.
The women were picking non manufacturing business but from the third batch the women are entering into working on a manufacturing plant.
Few others said when women are sole proprietors of business they should be aware to go around alone for machinery, licenses and from which bulb is going in their shed to tally accounts. As we are leading the group we are responsible to guide our employees.
“I think it all really starts with the family. When women are supported at their home, it gives them immense confidence to face the rest of the world.
Actually there could be a perception that women probably stick to less risky business or end up giving the management over to get their spouses. But I think this scheme did a good job of eliminating all that and sanctioning only to candidates who were very confident”, Meghana Gondi, Founder, The Storyteller Enterprises.
Women also pointed out that the scheme knowledge training from Indian School of Business is providing formal and official information from legal, finances, licenses, everything to be constructed in a business model.
Another entrepreneur Avanthi said, “It has been four months that I have become an entrepreneur and I want to say there is no end to your passion. I was a student of the first batch and I had to take a break for my pregnancy and then Covid came but I did visit the TRICOR office after two years and received all the support. I can see not fifty per cent women in the scheme but will still remain inspiring women and ask them to take a first step forward.”
