Floating bridge inaugurated at Vizag

`In a bid to enhance tourism and attract more visitors, the Andhra Pradesh government has unveiled a new attraction in Visakhapatnam — a floating bridge at RK Beach. The bridge, constructed through a public-private partnership at a cost of approximately Rs 1.5 crore, was inaugurated on Sunday by YSRCP Regional Coordinator Y.V. Subbareddy and State Industries Minister Gudivada Amarnath.
Addressing the gathering, Y.V. Subbareddy emphasised the government’s commitment to bolstering tourism. He mentioned that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy emphasised the city’s expansive coastline spanning approximately 25 kilometers within Visakhapatnam boundaries, highlighting endeavors to grant it distinctive recognition. Subbareddy disclosed ongoing initiatives for the development of two beaches in Visakhapatnam, crediting the increase in tourist visits over the past two-and-a-half years to the area’s growing attractions. He stressed the importance of enhancing amenities at Kailasagiri, poised to become the premier attraction of the administrative capital.
Minister Amarnath echoed Subbareddy’s sentiments, elaborating on the government’s multifaceted initiatives to attract international tourists. He touted Visakha Beach as a pivotal asset in the tourism sector, emphasising the efforts to showcase its allure to global audiences. Amarnath outlined notable achievements, including Visakhapatnam’s ranking as the 10th richest city in the nation, the recognition of Rushikonda Beach as a blue flag beach of international standards, and the ascent of science museum developments on Kailasagiri, slated to enrich the visitor experience.
