Former Special Intelligence Bureau (SIB) chief T. Prabhakar Rao appeared before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Monday.
The retired Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, who returned to Hyderabad on Sunday from the United States after 14 months, appeared before SIT officials at the Jubilee Hills Police Station.
Prabhakar is the number one accused in the phone tapping case booked in March 2024.
The case deals with the alleged tapping of the phones of politicians and businessmen during BRS rule.
A source informed ‘The Pioneer’ that Prabhakar had nothing new to reply to the questions asked on Monday. He just repeated the information revealed in court during the initial hearings.
The police have so far named six accused in the case. Praneeth Rao, Additional SPs Thirupathanna and Bhujanga Rao and former DCP P. Radha Kishan Rao were arrested in the case.
