The Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, said that former Special Investigations Bureau (SIB) chief Prabhakar Rao is no ordinary man.
Holding Prabhakar responsible for the troubles faced by many public activists like him, Sanjay described Prabhakar as a ‘scoundrel.’
He said that “Prabhakar underwent the KCR family’s counselling” in the US.
“Prabhakar surrendered and appeared for the inquiry as per a well-crafted plan. The statement given by Prabhakar during the inquiry must be made public as it is not just Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s phone he had tapped, but the phones of the leaders of the Congress, the BJP, the BRS, judges, and also mine,” Sanjay said.
He said that many lives were destroyed by Prabhakar. “Numerous families were ruined and were pushed onto the streets. Prabhakar stooped so low that he even tapped the private conversations between husbands and wives, creating a situation where couples couldn’t even speak freely on the phone,” Sanjay said.
He said the public has the right to know as per whose orders the phones were tapped.
“After the phones were tapped, what was done with that data? Who got the recordings? Who was blackmailed using those audio files?” he asked.
“Strong action must be taken against Prabhakar Rao as per the court’s guidelines. Public confidence in the Congress Government is already weakening. Not even a single corruption case has been properly investigated in the last 18 months of Congress rule. At least now, the government should argue strongly in court. Prabhakar and the masterminds behind him must be proved guilty,” he said.
