Planning Board Vice-Chairman and Vijayawada Central MLA Malladi Vishnu has said that under the leadership of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, development works are being done at a fast pace in the constituency with the cooperation of the people. The MLA, along with City Mayor Rayana Bhagyalakshmi, Deputy Mayor Sreesailaja Reddy and local corporator Modugula Thirupatamma, and others, on Wednesday took part in the foundation stone-laying for road development works in the 63rd Division worth Rs 1.59 crore.
Vishnu said that during the previous government’s tenure, development works in the constituency were neglected. After the YSRCP took charge, however, development works are on the right track. Infrastructure facilities are being set up to meet the aspirations of the local people. Road construction is being done division-wise wise and new roads worth Rs 1.39 crore were laid in VUDA Colony. A foundation stone was laid for the internal cross-road construction works, spending Rs 19.91 lakh, in the seventh line of EWS Colony.
With the ongoing development works under the leadership of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the central constituency has become a care of address for development. In 63rd division, with the funds of 15th Finance Commission, works are completed at a cost of Rs 1.25 crore for Hosanna Mandiram Road and another cost of Rs 1.20 crore for Doctors Colony Road.
Mayor Rayana Bhagyalakshmi, said that during the previous government’s term, the city roads were in a very bad condition. After the YSRCP government came to power, it is transforming the city as an example to other places in terms of development. Therefore, he has asked all the people to notice the difference between the work done under the incompetent government of Chandrababu and the work being done at a fast pace under the able leadership of CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
TDP and Jana Sena leaders should answer why they could not undertake all these works in the past five years while in power. She said that the previous rulers should be ashamed to come on the roads and protest.
