Gear up for ‘Grama Darshini’, officials told

Krishna District Collector P Ranjith Basha has directed the district officials to be prepared for conducting ‘Grama Darshini’ on December 30 for resolving the people’s problems. As many as 3,183 problems were identified during the two Grama Darshini programmes held earlier, 566 of which were resolved, he said.

Collector Ranjith Basha conducted the Spandana programme at the Collectorate at Machilipatnam in Krishna district on Monday. He received petitions from the public.

Later, addressing the officials, he said that the next Grama Darshini would be conducted on December 30. “During the past two Grama Darshini programmes, the authorities identified a total of 3,183 problems. Suitable solutions have been found to 566 of them. The pending applications should be solved as soon as possible,” he said.

The Collector revealed the newly selected beneficiaries would be given Rs.70 crore on December 27 under various welfare schemes. He ordered all the DWMA, ICDS, Civil Supplies, DRDA and RDOs to conduct inspections in ration shops and submit a comprehensive report.

Besides, the Collector directed the Medical and Health Department officials to take necessary actions to contain anaemia among pregnant women.

Make elaborate arrangements for CJI tour
He informed the officials that the Chief Justice of India would be visiting Krishna and NTR districts on December 29 and 30 and asked them to make elaborate arrangements.

The CJI would arrive at the Gannavaram International Airport at 6.45 pm on December 29 and proceed to Vijayawada. In return, the CJI will come to the airport at 12.15 noon on December 30, he said. He asked all the officers to make proper arrangements accordingly.

Krishna District Joint Collector Dr Aparajitha Singh, DRO Venkateswarlu, MUDA VC NarayanaReddy, CPO Y Srilatha, DSO V Parvathi, DRDA PD Prasad, Machilipatnam Municipal Corporation Commissioner Chandrayya and others were present.
