A 15-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide at her house on Monday reportedly upset after her father reprimanded her for playing games on her mobile phone.
The tragedy took place at Sunita Lakshma Reddy colony at Narsapur in the district. The deceased is identified as Anjum Begum. She was the ninth class student in the Girls’ High School in Narsapur.
With summer vacations being declared, the girl started playing games on the mobile phone. Her father reportedly reprimanded her mildly that it was not good for her health to play games on the mobile phone. But, the girl continued to play games on the mobile phone.
On seeing the girl playing games on the mobile phone at 4.30 am on Monday, her father snatched away the mobile phone from her. Upset after the father scolded her, the girl went inside the bedroom and hanged herself from a ceiling fan, the police said.
Narsapur sub-inspector of Police Sivakumar registered a case and an investigation is on.
