The government of Telangana has issued guidelines for the general transfer of professors, associate professors and assistant professors under the administrative control of the Director of Medical Education (DME). The move was announced by Finance and Health Minister Tanneru Harish Rao,
The announcement was also welcomed by contract lecturers working in junior, degree, polytechnic, and other government colleges, who expressed gratitude for the opportunity to make their jobs permanent. Various contract teaching unions leaders met Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday, under the leadership of Health Minister T Harish Rao and MLC Dr Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, to express their happiness for the decision.
According to the guidelines, only those who have completed at least two years of service in their current place of work are eligible to apply for a transfer. Vacancies in the 17 medical colleges newly set up by the state government will be filled through transfers only. In case the number of applications exceeds the number of vacancies in the 17 colleges, the vacancies in Nalgonda, Suryapet, Siddipet, Mahbub Nagar, and Adilabad will be filled. The vacancies in Osmania, Gandhi, Kakatiya (Warangal), and Nizamabad Medical Colleges will not be displayed for counselling under any circumstances.
In the event that multiple candidates apply for a single post, priority will be determined based on factors such as spouse, handicapped, mentally retarded children, compassionate appointments, and serious medical problems in family members.
