Go-to regime of experts to treat dry skin

Must read

Factors such as low humidity levels, temperature, dry indoor heat, and harsh wind can all zap your skin of moisture. This can leave your skin looking a lot less radiant — not only your face, but also your hands, feet, and other areas can be exposed. The dryness of skin can affect many people, and the severity of the symptoms can vary significantly.

Dr. Geetika Mittal Gupta, skin expert, and cosmetologist, shares a few simple steps that you can take to ensure that your skin looks healthy, even during weather changes, or when the temperature dips.

Check your diet
Apart from external skin care routines, it will be instrumental for you to adopt some dietary changes that include antioxidant rich food to nurture your skin from the inside. Foods like whole grains, cereals and nuts like almonds are rich in vitamin E, which helps increase blood flow to the skin, thus making it smooth and supple. Eating almonds daily in place of typical calorie-matched snacks may be an effective means of improving the appearance of facial wrinkles and skin tone.

Almond oil all the way
Face oils are packed with ingredients such as polyphenols, fatty acids, and antioxidants which help reduce inflammation and give skin a dewy glow. Face oils have become a beauty cabinet staple thanks to their natural ability to hydrate and nourish a variety of skin types. You can use a variety of oils for your skin such as olive oil, mustard oil, coconut oil, almond oil, sunflower oil, etc. However, one must do a patch test when using face oils and avoid using them on acne-prone skin as the oils can clog pores.

Nourishing body lotions right after shower will help
One of the must-dos in your beauty routine is to moisturize your skin every day. Focus on the kinds of ingredients that make up the body lotion and pick those that are known to work wonders. Almonds have long been used in beauty remedies to nourish the skin and keep it beautiful. Almonds are a great source of vitamin E and fatty acids that provide intensive moisture to the skin. It therefore makes for a great body lotion ingredient to bring back life to dry and dull skin.

DIY face masks for dry skin
A facial mask can replenish and moisturize your skin. These are effective treatments because the ingredients are able to sit on your skin for about 10 to 30 minutes. The nutrients and vitamins penetrate your skin, deep cleaning your pores and removing the outermost layer of dead skin. You can quickly churn a DIY face mask using ingredients in your kitchen like avocado, oatmeal, honey, turmeric, almonds or banana. One of the easiest face masks that you can make at the comfort of your home is almond and milk face mask which can be made using two ingredients. Mix 1 tablespoon of almond powder and 2 tablespoon raw milk together and you’re ready to go. Keep this mask on your face for 20 minutes and then rinse your face thoroughly with lukewarm water. You may apply this mask on your arms and legs too.
