Stating that the Andhra Pradesh government aims to make the education sector the best in the country, Minister for Education, IT, and Electronics Nara Lokesh on Tuesday said that radical changes would be introduced in the curriculum from KG to PG to foster creativity and achieve this goal.
Lokesh emphasised that skill development is being aligned in such a way that students should secure employment immediately after completing their graduation. He was speaking after a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the State Government and the Sulochanadevi Singhania School Trust in his presence. The agreement is part of efforts to align with the objectives of the National Education Policy.
As the first step, the trust will initially focus on 14 schools in Tirupati district, assessing teachers’ skills, their proficiency in spoken English, and integrating technology into the academic system.
Over one lakh students are expected to benefit from improved educational standards under this five-year initiative. The trust will later extend its services to Amaravati, Visakhapatnam, and Kakinada.
Chairman of the Singhania Group, Gautam Hari Singhania, said that the trust’s objective is to equip students with advanced technological skills. He also highlighted plans to enhance teachers’ efficiency to ensure quality education. Training centres for teachers will be set up in Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, and Amaravati, he added.
“We will not only upgrade teachers’ skills in advanced technology but also train them in digital tools. With a special focus on English proficiency, students will graduate with the necessary skills to meet career requirements,” Singhania said.
Director of Singhania Group of Schools, Revathi Srinivasan, stressed that education is the foundation of progress and that the aim is to introduce global best practices in local schools. Independent Director of Raymond, K. Narasimha Murthy, Chief Financial Officer Naveen Sarma, and several heads of the Singhania Group were present at the event.
