Education Minister Botsa Satyanarayana, in a meeting with representatives of employee associations, reiterated the government’s commitment to implementing the Pay Revision Commission (PRC), emphasising that interim relief (IR) is not within the current governmental policy. The Group of Ministers convened with employee representatives at the secretariat on Friday to discuss certain issues.
Addressing the media after the meeting, Minister Satyanarayana highlighted the government’s rationale for not providing IR, citing the inability to announce the PRC earlier due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
He questioned the necessity for IR when the government is actively pursuing PRC implementation and mentioned plans to regularize contract employees, albeit delayed by ongoing legal proceedings. He reassured a democratic approach in all government actions.
