Govt prioritises women’s health: YV

Emphasising the YSRCP government’s commitment to women’s well-being, member of Rajya Sabha and North Andhra Regional Coordinator, YV Subbareddy, highlighted that women’s health remains a top priority. In observance of International Women’s Day, a special medical camp for women was organized at Visakha Gurajada Kalakshetram, led by Mayor Golagani Hari Venkata Kumari, with support from former MPs, Deputy Mayors, and North constituency coordinator, under the guidance of YSRCP leader Banala Srinivasa Rao and in collaboration with KIMS Icon and Medicover hospitals.
Speaking on the occasion, YV Subbareddy stressed the government’s dedication to women’s welfare and outlined various schemes aimed at improving their health. Notably, a women’s medical camp facilitated by Kims and Medicare hospitals provided free medical tests to 375 women, focusing on gynaecological and breast cancer screenings. Mayor Golagani Hari Venkata Kumari highlighted the government’s efforts in implementing health welfare schemes, including the establishment of hospitals in every ward.
Addressing the fundamental need for clean drinking water, the government donated three water filters to the Red Cross Society, targeting night stay centers in the city. The donation was made by the City Mayor and MPs at TSR Complex, Bhupesh Nagar, Pedawatheru. Furthermore, Dwcra women honored Mayor Hari Venkata Kumari, Rajya Sabha Members YV Subbareddy, former Members of Parliament Botsa Jhansi, and Mepma MD Vijayalakshmi, expressing gratitude for their contributions.

The programme saw participation from various stakeholders, including GVMC UCD Project Officers, DPOs, staff, and women from Dwakra, showcasing collective engagement towards promoting women’s health and welfare.
